Mr. Bun Rithy was born in February 1966 in Battambang Province. After he was graduated, he worked as a nurse in Site 2 Refugee Camp. In 1988 he joined a human rights organization called Chapter 89 and in 1990, he worked with the Security Liaison Officer for the United Nations Border Relief Organization (UNBRO) at Site 2. At this time he completed his law qualification from the Cambodian Faculty of Law and Public Administration. After repatriation in 1992, he worked with the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) as a translator. He was selected by CDP to train as Criminal Defender in March 1994. He passed Bar Exam and become member of the Cambodian Bar Association in 1997. He has been promoted as Battambang Provincial Officer of the Cambodian Defenders Project since 1997. |
