Core activity of CDP is legal aid. CDP represents and advocates for poor and vulnerable people in civil and criminal cases, free of charge for over thirteen years, enabling them to have access to the justice system and ability to enforce their rights. Since its inception in early 1994, CDP lawyers have handled more than then thousand cases. Over 60% of Civil cases are land disputes because many Cambodians are dependent on their land for their livelihoods and survival. Land grabbling and the lack of formal legal titles leads to many disputes.
